ReplyDeleteHi I have just returned from Aruba and stayed at the Occidental hotel in the high rise area,To the north of the hotel about a mile is a reck on some flats which i went to fish with a spinning rod and some lures which had no luck in about four foot of water,When wading back to shore i saw to my surprise two very large Bonefish feeding,
ReplyDeleteWent back the following eveing with fly rod at high tide and as i was scouting the water for any movements, four guys pulled up in a pick up and proceeded to run a net which was about 100ft x 4ft out on the flats and pull in. When i went over to see what they had chaght my hart sank to see 5 large Double figure Bone fish diying in a large box.I told the guys that the fish where worth more alive to the island and as far as i know not normal eating to which i had no response and they just went on netting, from a distance i saw then next unfortunate fish which was a eagle ray, I packed up and went back to the hotel.
